Narrator Opening
Buongiorno, e benvenuti a teatro, cari ascoltatori! These days Silvia is involved in the organization of a high-profile arts festival. So… would Connor be interested in being the official sponsor for the event, she asks. There will be a gala, as well, and Connor, who, as we know, is not too keen on wearing elegant clothes, seems a little perplexed. “Now I will have to dress up and even wear a bow tie” he complains! Well, Silvia is quick to pin him against a wall. “Come on” she says “just pretend you’re Marcello in La dolce vita, and come to my gala!”.
My friends, just a couple words before we dive into the play. On the show today we will explore the usage of indirect object pronouns. Don’t worry, it’s easy to spot them, for they answer the question, “to whom?” or “for whom?”. Today we will also get to know a very special Italian verb, piacere, which literally means: to be pleasing to. All right, my friends, let’s enjoy the show!
